A versatile young artist with an exceptionally beautiful voice and dramatic presence, Andréa Gregori is at home in virtually all musical styles and periods. She began her career as a dancer/choreographer, but quickly moved into the realm of opera, concert and musical theater, performing with the Tri-Cities Opera, Ashlawn-Highland Summer Festival, Opera Equinox in Vermont, Four Corners Opera and Central Florida Lyric Opera, in a wide variety of roles, including Marie (DAUGHTER OF THE REGIMENT), Pamina, Micaela, Norina, Musetta, Adele, Lucy (THE TELEPHONE), and Zerlina. Other roles include Mimi, Fiordiligi, Susanna (MARRIAGE OF FIGARO), and Lauretta (GIANNI SCHICCHI), as well as numerous roles in operetta and musical theater. Upcoming performances include a concert with world-renowned baritone, Jake Gardner. Ms. Gregori most recently enjoyed enormously successful performances as Rose Maybud in RUDDIGORE with the New York Savoyards. She also appeared with them in 2003 as Phyllis in IOLANTHE and 2002 as Josephine in HMS PINAFORE. This followed concerts of operatic excerpts in New York and Philadelphia with well-known Metropolitan Opera artists, tenor Enrico Di Giuseppe and baritones Dominic Cossa and Guido LeBrón. Andréa was recently invited to participate in a master class with world-renowned voice and opera coach, Ann Baltz. She was a featured soloist with the New York State Sports & Entertainment Celebrity Gala in 2000 and will return for an encore performance in April 2005. Ms. Gregori was twice a regional winner of the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, a finalist for the MacAllister National Opera Awards, finalist in the 2002 International Schorr competition and a finalist in the 2003 Connecticut Opera Guild Competition. She is a recipient of the Esther Boyer Griswold Voice & Opera Award and the Florence Berggren Voice Scholarship from Temple University in Philadelphia, from which she received a Bachelor of Music Degree (magna cum laude) in Voice Performance. The daughter of opera singers, Ms. Gregori spent her childhood in Germany and speaks fluent German. |
